Hey people,

I was wondering if you could help me out. My hair by no means has receided at all but my bangs seem to be abit thinner than they used to be, I have thick hair but I've noticed this. I was wondering if you would suggest I should check with a docter or anything. Also, I haven't eaten as healthy as I should be eating the past yr or so.

If it bothers you, go to a dermatologist and find out. Could be the beginnings of male pattern baldness or could simply be your perception.

It isn't your diet though, so you can dismiss that.

ohh I see, I've heard having deficiencies in certain minerals etc can have something to do with this, Thanks for the info anyways, I'm going to check with a dermatologist as soon as I can. And if It is male pattern baldness can i do anything about to keep it from getting any worse?

Like I said, go to your dermatologist. He/she will be qualified to suggest a course of action. If it's male pattern baldness, I imagine that it would include Propecia and/or minoxidil. Don't self-medicate though... go and find out from a pro.

A lot of guys hope that their loss is due to something within their control, e.g., diet, exercise, smoking, etc... However, it's almost always due to genetics. You could eat Big Macs 3X/day for years, doing 8-balls every night, and still maintain your hair if you were not genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness. Of course, you'd be a fat (perhaps deceased) son of a b**ch.

lol.

I go past a branch of MacDonalds everyday and can't resist glancing thru the window - all I see are very young, very slim, very attractive people with great swathes of hair, cramming that crap into themselves. And I think, bastards, while I'm mulling over my cheese & lettuce sandwich. Makes me think there's some kind of genetic branding in hamburgers, aka Soylent Green.

And I've never eaten a hamburger in my life. Gotta start somewhere.
