Sorry to hijack your thread but this person is using oral spironolactone too:

http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=65286&forumid=1

but a guy said:

his is so very wrong. you should not be encouraging people to take oral spironolactone. it is a drug meant for women and transexuals. it causes permanent impotence in males. it causes extreme breast growth in males. it causes heart problems and liver problems. to any people reading this thread and thinking that oral spironolactone might be the answer to your hairloss problems: think again. the people on this forum who take this drug have severe mental problems. it is simply not worth it to risk your health and your manhood. trust me, guys. you dont want to take this sh*t. its extremely dangrous and the bottom line is that its meant for women.

thanks for that info. I am taking spironolactone under medical guidance and i believe my Doctor. Ya it suits more to women but according to my Doctor lower doses are also well tolerated by men also and there are no medical proof of impotence due to spironolactone.
Lots of people here as well as on HLH are taking it without any complication so you have to count on their experience until you starts on your own.

Hi every1,
I believe that what I meant five or six month before are pretty accomplished to certain extend. I consider myself an excellent responder of finast and very low dose of spironolactone. During the initial period of treatment I shedded like a crazy, may be 150-200 hairs per day may be more but I hadn't loosed my confidence and at present you can see the enhancement. Now I am considering stopping the exploit of oral spironolactone and giving a hand to home made topicals.last month I ended a spironolactone topical after reading a post on hlh but I don't sense it is doing anything on my scalp. :wink: Also tried a topical of spironolactone, cyproterone and flutamide but it looks like I exhausted my time and money. :( So I beg all of you to share your home made topical recipe to me or sight me a thread on homemade topical.

Sorry for the bright flashed pictures.

Great to hear from another successful oral spironolactone user? Did you experience any sides from it? Your hair is looking really good. I wish mine was like that. I see no diffuse thinning at the vertex. Keep up the good work!

shed

Hi Bald is beautiful ;

You said that you were shedding a lot, 150-200 hairs a day, how low did it last ? Did it slowly decrease or stop right away ? How did you counted thoose ? I too starting a new treatment and I am shedding a lot, like 30 hair each day in the shower on my hand. Thoose are smaller, no bulb, sometime black (and I have blond hair). I just hope that I am sheeding and this is not permanent ;)
