hello everyone,
i am 23 years old and have been lossing hair for past four years.i have not any recessions but i have nw6 pattern hair thining.i also have a bald spot at my vertex,but it still has very very thin hair.for past three months i have been reading all the posts here and decided to start finasteride and oral spironolactone.i have been on spironolactone(100mg/day) for 1 week and it doesnot cause any significant problem.since i am using herbal oil therefore the use of minoxidil is out of question.i have a family history of male pattern baldness in my family on my father's side.there is peculiar problem with my shadding hair is that they had black hair bulb.
can anybody figure out why the bulbs are black and also give me advice on my current regimen.

Wow that's weird that the bulbes are black. I can't explain it. Do you dye your hair dark colors a lot?

Is that you in the pic? If so you look amazing. Don't worry too much about your hair, because you have a good head shape and are attractive enough to pull the look off. 8) You just havta smile :lol:

thanks speculum2,my friends also say the same thing thats why i regularly shave my head so that i should used to the fact that my hair are losing ground.but if u have a family of seven brothers and all having beautiful hairs that make u upset.

i would have a doctor monitor you while you are on the oral spironolactone.

the decision to start finasteride is a good one. also consider using nizoral shampoo twice a week in place of your normal shampoo- use a teaspoon and leave it in for five minutes.

If the hair you lose has black bulbs instead of white bulbs, usually they fell out during the growth phase or maybe you pulled them out. Hairs shed during the telogen(resting) phase have white bulbs. If you didn't pull them out I don't know why they have black bulbs and you should ask the doctor about it when you go to him the first time to monitor you on spironolactone.

after using spironolactone i noticed reduced ejection and nothing else.ok i will regularly monitor my bp and potassium level . concerning my black bulb,i already talked to a dermatologist and she told me that the cell inside my bulb are died or dried. i don't believe her.
any1 in this forum can tell me why mine bulbs are black and urs white? :evil:

Extra shedding after straightening!

Not surprised... there is nothing harder on the hair, even when done proffessionaly.... Breakage, burning of the scalp, dryness... stay away from it.

Hi every 1,
For past two days I am selecting pictures from my album so that I can share my achievement story with u. I started finasteride four months back, in these four months I have taken thousands of pic. So it takes me two days to select the best pic out of them.
My hair loss started at age of 19, at that time I had no idea of it. I was student at that time so I thought to award studies a superior hand rather than messing on internet for finding a therapy for it. Most of my college life I preferred shaved head since friends told me u can take shaved look better.
But the last year at the college was my worst nightmare, my hair thinned noticeably at front and at vertex. People started to make commentary that u have got a hair band type bald patch on scalp. After all these annoying observations I started to use 2% minoxidil but with no results and it was also tiresome to apply it two times in a day. So I decided to abscond it.
After finishing college I became twitchy to find a cure for it so I jumped on internet in search of any relevant topic, forum or medicine. And I found this forum.
I read most of its current and past post and prepared a regime for myself. Initially the regime consists of only finasteride, biotin and nizoral shampoo .but gradually I incorporated Ayurvedic and homeopathy medicine.
Now my friends tell me that it is very difficult to spot that hair band type bald patch. The vertex is also thicken significantly. So I am happy with my regime now and hope that these improvements remain for couple of years.
You can see in the picture that in June my whole top has been thinned in a Norwood 6 style and I had two bald spot at the top of head. Also the quality of hair is very bad compare to now. Just compare my first and last pictures together then u knows how bad my situation was.

I am very thankful to socks (Brian) and brainfog (nick) for sharing their experience of oral spironolactone with me.

I use herbal oil which consists of eclipta alba, rubia cordifolia, centella asiatica.

Three things you can do:-

1).u can also take homeopathy medicine arnica6c (arnica 30c) or scalptone to arrest ur hair fall and for natural black hair. Initially I used nizoral for dandruff but after couple of weeks I left it and started Johnson’s baby shampoo and the herbal oil for the dandruff.

2). If u wanted to make a home made black dye free from chemicals then u can use 250gm gill (anethum graveolens). Soak it for 12 hrs. in water and after that make paste of it in a mixi and then apply on your scalp .after 1 hr wash it off with cold water only. Caution do not use shampoo for washing it.

3).take 1 teaspoon of emblica officinale powder morning ½ hr before breakfast and 1 teaspoon evening ½ hr. before evening tea.

Hope that any1 of these will work for u.

thanks.Yes i am taking 50 mg spironolactone for the past three months.Initially i started with 100 mg but after two weeks i decreased the dose to 25 mg.After Consulting my doctor i increased the dose to 50 mg. So you can say that i am on spironolactone for 4 months.

Yes, decreased libido and ejaculation. Initially I also experienced pain in my balls but these are temporary. I also found out that if you stop taking spironolactone for around one week the amount of ejaculation return to its original.
