I alsohave an uncle who owns a laser comb and the man stambs by, is that thing legit? And for my last question, ive heard members of this site talking about how cheap rogaine and nizoral were. Oh yes, you should have just told us you wanted the treatment that was just as effective but without side effects..

No, there isn't. I've yet to see any convincing evidence that things like topical spironolactone and RU are effective, maybe because they are always combined with other treatments. My hair loss is exactly like yours and I'm getting dramatic effects from the Big 3 after only 2.5 months. It's worth trying

Nizoral 1% is about $12 per bottle and lasts 2-3 months. Kirkland's minoxidil is $25 for a 6 month supply, but you can plan on using double that as most diffuse thinners use 2mL instead of 1mL. Rogaine foam is about triple that, but is nice to use in the morning because it dries faster. So it costs about $15/month plus whatever your copay is for Propecia/Proscar. I put off trying Propecia for a while because I didn't want to experience side effects, but now that I'm on it, I wish I used it years ago.

It's hard to say whether or not there will be a cure or better treatment soon. It seems to appear that way, but you should take it with a grain of salt. Most of the firms claiming to have a cure
are small and it is in their self-interest to say this so they can fund their research.

Looking at the pics i posted, should i consider a hair piece or just ride it out and see how far my balding goes?

If you got on the Big 3 now, you would probably regrow a lot of hair. Diffuse thinners respond quite well usually. I put off getting on Propecia for a long time because of the side effects, but they aren't that bad. Riding it out would mean you'll lose all of your hair in a few years. Any hair that's thin now will eventually fall out.

Another questions about Hair transplants. A diffuse thinner such as myself, should i even consider an hair transplant? Im guessing i would still have to get on propecia regardless. Alot of people have recommended me to go see Dr Rahal.

Dr Rahal is a world leading surgeon but with your amount of loss I would be amased if you could find an ethical Dr who would operate on you while your not on finesteride. If you have hair transplants with the aggressive nature of your loss in the long term you will probably only be able to get similar covereage to what you have got now. Factor in the strip scar as (FUE wouldnt cover it IMO) and then you will not be able to buzz it down for the rest of your life. Im not trying to scare you off but there are considerations you have to make

If I were you I would get on the big 3 for a year or two, see how i get on with those and in the meanwhile research research research hair transplant's as they are a serious commitment.

Haha thanks but im not really, im just a conservative character. I have been considering a hair transplant myself for my frontal recession and over the course of the last year have gradually talked myself out of it. Thats not to say people cant benefit from them, just that for me at this point in time it is not the right thing to do. If I had booked one last year when i first started researching them i would really have had no idea what i was getting into.

I would recommend researching websites such as the hair restoration network if you have come across it. It is more geared toward hair transplants. You will find many knowledgable posters there and people with hair transplant experience as well as many drs who post themselves.

Best of luck whatever you decide but make sure your decision is based on information and not on pure emotion (difficult i know!)
