My mom is starting to thin in typical female pattern baldness. Both of her sisters have it too. Her 60 year old brother is probably at a NW2.5. No males in her family as far as I know of had premature baldness.
I am 18 and have have odd hairline recession. One side appears to be juvenile while the other side is basically a mature hairline. I also occasionally have major shedding and slightly thinner areas. I am under a lot of stress, but the top seems to be a lot thinner than the back.
Btw, my dad is probably around a norwood 2 with vertex thinning. Many relatives on his side of the family are bald, but I would imagine that I couldn't get it from him since he doesn't express the trait.
Is my mom's thinning a sign that she carries genes for premature baldness? My parents are convinced that I am imagining my hairloss. What should I do?
