Hello everyone. About a year ago people started pointing out to me that Im balding on my crown. About 3 months ago I started really freaking out and taking pictures everyday to see how bad it is. Around 3 years ago my mom started working alot and I have started eating less and less. Im pretty skinny for my height. Im 6'1 and 155 lbs. Does this look like male pattern baldness or can it be from a bad diet. Also too make matters worse last summer I got depressed over a girl and when I get depressed I shower alot. I would shower at least 2 times a day and wash my hair both times. I have been taking vitamin e supplements for about a month and washing my hair less frequently with pura dor shampoo. Last week I started to drink alot more water. Today I bought saw pallmeto and fish oil supplements. So my plan is to 1. massage my scalp everyday 2. wash hair less frequently 3. drink alot of water 4.consume saw palmetto, fish oil, and vitamin e daily.
So my questions are 1.is it ok to take all those supplements?
2. Does it look like male pattern baldness?
3. Any other advice or help. balding1.jpgbalding2.jpgbalding3.jpgbalding4.jpgbalding5.jpgbalding6.jpgbalding7.jpgbalding8.jpg

its male pattern baldness and you are heading for a nw5 by the looks of it. dump the natural supplements and use finasteride 1.25mg a day and minoxodil, buy both generic online and u can get them cheap.

I doubt any of the stuff you mentioned made you start losing hair. It's just how it is for people like you and I. Welcome to the club, the get effed club. zzzzz mentioned what you can do to try to reverse/stop your hair loss. All the natural BS is a waste of time.

I could say with more certainty if I saw your hair line, but this definitely looks like early male pattern baldness. You should check with a dermatologist to confirm; most likely it's genetic, meaning that your body is just pre-programmed to lose hair from your scalp.

The so-called "big three," ie ketoconazole shampoo, minoxidil, and finasteride are the only treatments known to actually work. Consult with a doctor and then decide what you want to do. Some people choose to forgo treating hair loss because of the potential side effects of the treatments, the hazards of using the treatments, or just because they don't care. What you do is up to you.

Incorrect. Your too young for finasteride. I don't care if 90% of doctors think your fully developed; your not. At least wait until 21, and then MAYBE consider treatment if your willing to risk the horrible side effects. In the end you have to make the choice. You can make that choice now, but don't take medical action until 21. Finasteride at 18 - 20 is something your going to regret. Trust me.

Laybife = Baylife

I took finasteride when I was 17 / 18? Somewhere around my physical before going into college was when I got the prescription. You'll be fine. In fact studies have shown that the younger you are the more tolerable and effective the drug is. I've hardly even lost any hair since quitting finasteride 2.5 years ago.

Where did I say he should get on finasteride? I just told him what we currently have available that works. At his age I would definitely recommend he go see a doctor then make his decision. His hair is getting pretty thin though. He doesn't really have time to be screwing around with lasers and oils and other garbage that's not going to work.

It's always about finasteride.

That is very interesting I could imagine maybe it is better take finasteride at a younger age of like 17/18
Of course you got to make sure you're pretty well developed like height wise and penis size etc.

Im not going to go on finasteride or rogain or anything like that. If i lose my hair i lose it. But I have to reiterate my diet was horrible for the past 2 years , i had an extreme amount of stress around december time, and i would wash my hair very often. If these things are the cause of my hair loss would i lose my hair all around or can it be lost only at the crown area?

This. If you are prepared, then you are one of the very few. Most say they are, and think "this won't be that bad, I'll just buzz my head". Getting a glimpse of that horseshoe will change that way of thinking real quick.

Yes i agree. I dont want to jump into all these chemical options that may affect me down the line its just not worth having hair. Right now im doing exactly what you wrote. For the past year my diet was horrible and I was constantly stressed out. So now Im starting to eat alot more and healthier, as well as drinking alot of water. However im thinking abut adding nizoral shampoo. Can nizoral shampoo help without finasteride or rogaine?

Ok thank you! But i also read that these shampoos are used mostly to fight dandruff. Would it be beneficial for hair gorwth even if I don't have dandruff?
