But remember, a little temple recession doesn't always mean you're balding. From the pictures it doesn't look like you're thinning so you're most likely fine despite your family history.

Go to a hair loss expert. I remember coming on here maybe around your age, if not a little earlier around 17 or so. I asked people if I was balding. I was told I had a cowlick, not to worry. Maybe one or two posters did say to keep my eye on it.

Fast forward 7-8 years later and I’m norwood 5 diffuse thinning. My advice to anyone who thinks they’re balding is go to a professional and/or begin treatment immediately. You know your hair better than any other poster here, making you more qualified to answer whether you’re losing hair or not. If you notice your hair disappearing, you probably are balding for one reason or another.

Your left temple looks the same in that picture, so I don't think you're balding atm.

In 2017, if your title was "bad genetics" and you posted these same pictures, the replies would be looking quite different than these, lol.
According to this part "Uncle and grandpa are Norwood 7 all in their 20s and dad is a Norwood 3.5 at 56" you'll most likely recede as well. I don't think it has already started because your hairline is the same as when you were 12, but keep an eye on it, so if it starts you'll be able to catch and treat it early.

Sometimes if you still have your juvenile hairline when you're around 18/19, you don't go bald because you've been exposed to dht for years and your hairline hasn't changed. Not always the case as some people recede later because their follicles get more sensitive.

I’ve always expected to go bald, I should probably try nizoral and minoxidle just Incase I suppose. But if I do start going bald that will be too aggressive for minoxidil. I’ll just accept it and go bald

I'm not sure if this is true (someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I read somewhere that people with more aggressive balding usually respond better to meds. But so far your hair looks good.

Interesting, I’ll try some nizoral for the time being then once I notice anything I’ll hop on minoxidil. I’m not gonna do anything with finasteride.
