bad diffuse thinning at 18

I recently saw a dermatologist for her lost and she recommended against me taking propecia ( she said 18 is to young) . Also she said she didn't notice my hair thinning. Which is weird because my crown hair is quite obviously thinning. I will get a second opinion as soon as possible but I'm looking for some opinions on this forum. I feel it is pretty bad considering my age

It doesn't look too bad in my opinion. I think the gap is due to the fact that the hair is going in different directions. If all the hair was going the same way you wouldn't see any scalp. If you were to separate the hair at the side of your head you would probably see the same thing. Also there is a big bright flash from the camera hitting it so that is going to accentuate the parting. Some other people might tell you to jump on propecia but in my opinion you are doing all right. I would say to keep monitoring it and if it gets worse then start treatment.

Take a picture of your hair when wet. I think it's just your cowlick/part because the hair is in different directions. Honestly looks the same as mine and people here told me it's fine.

That diffused, and X pattern is typical with the onset, and beginning signs of crown loss. I also happened to have the same pattern before I went on finasteride. Long story short, it completely filled in, and I have no more 'crown part'

Look, I'm sorry I said that I was glad you were suffering from hair loss because I honestly would not wish it on anyone. The insults were untrue as well. But if I make a comment that you don't agree with at least say why you disagree with it instead of simply saying you disagree with it.
