Avodart itch ?

After 8 months on finasteride, I started using Dutasteride (Avodart) 1-2x a week.

I kept using finasteride every day, and weekly I would add 1 or 2 dutasteride capsules to the mix.

Now after doinng this regime for 3 months my head started to itch a lot more...

after 4 months it still did not stop, so I decided to quit taking Dutasteride. (btw I didn't see any improvement in hair quality while using dutasteride)

Now 2 months have passed since I quit Dutasteride, but the strange thing is that my head is still itching a lot :-s...

In the 8 months I used finasteride, I never experienced itching. And since adding Dutasteride to the mix it just doesn't want to stop !

Does anyone know what is happening, and what I could do ??? :unsure:

Could be anything. I get itching before growth comes in. I must say 8 months finasteride is too little. You took a big risk with Avodart. Either way I just started seeing good results 16-18 months in on finasteride.

I really don't know if the itch that i have is good or bad :-s... i really can't say hairwise..did you really start to see results so late on, at 16 months? And what do you mean by results? Stop of hairloss or regrowth?

It got worse at first then around month 12 it stopped shedding and then at month 16 I started seeing new hairs sprouting and they have been going from vellus to terminal over the last 2 months.

I'm really happy for you, and I wish I could say the same... It's been 14 months now and my temples have only recessed more over that period .
But I am sure stopping minoxidil (which I used only on my temples for 8 months) has made my temples shed so mcuh !! I never should have touched the minoxidil. (I had to stop using it due to red spots under my eyes)

I really am not sure about the finasteride. I really hope this itch isn't a signal for worse to come ...

I quit minoxidil too. It took 9 months just to get back to baseline. The whole 6 months thing is a lie, at least for me. It's a way longer process.
