I've been on Avodart .5mg for 10 months and it has served me well. No more hair-loss, hair has really thickened up and the slightly receded temple is growing back. At this point it is impossible to tell I have androgenetic alopecia.

I want to save money so I'm deciding to take Avodart every other day instead of everyday. Has anyone made this change? what should I expect?

Well, what should happen is less serum DHT being blocked if you were to take 0.5 mg EOD. I believe you block 90% serum DHT on 0.5mg ED, and 80% serum DHT on 0.5mg EOD.
Your DHT levels are already low, it should creep up a little after your change. Now will that affect your hair? Well, I guess you'll find out!

Since Dutasteride has such a long half-life, switching to every other day will be fine. There shouldn't be negative changes to your hair and considering that it seems like your male pattern baldness isn't very aggressive.

Thanks for replying. If I lose ground I'll return to taking it daily.
I was thinking of generic Avodart such as Duprost but the reviews for generics on these forums are discouraging. Have you tried generic Avodart?
