Hi

You wouldn't happen to be "Bret" from alt.baldspot and the old HairLossTalk.com a few years back would you? I remembered a poster who claimed great results with 2% spironolactone on both forums a few years back.

Regardless, I was curious if you experienced a shedding phase on 2% spironolactone. I tried adding it a few months back after being on finasteride and minoxidil for several years. In the span of 2 months on spironolactone I experienced the most significant shed I have EVER experienced on ANY medication I've used for male pattern baldness in the 7 years I've been treating it. I consulted Dr. Lee about it, and he refused to believe that the shedding was caused by the spironolactone, so I figured I was having a reaction of some kind to the drug and dropped it.

Did you experience a big shed?

Thanks

Yes, I felt like i was getting some shedding from the spironolactone. The strange thing about spironolactone is that even though I got clear regrowth from using it after only 3 months, my hair still seemed to fall out at the same rate. After adding the cu peptides and minoxidil 1X/day, my loss rate fell to about what it was before the onset of mbp.

Sorry to butt in...

I also had a shed when starting spironolactone, about a week after I started it.

I dropped spironolactone for about two weeks, and had another shed a week after dropping it. In a nutshell, I'm a firm believer that spironolactone can cause a shed. Then again, that's not rocket science, any hair medication can spur a shed.

Thanks for the reply Jesus Freak, but you didn't answer my first question. Are you the infamous "Bret"?
