Hey!

Well, what can I say, there are probably many post like that...
(excuse all the bad spelling, english is not my native)

I'm 25 and I never really had any serious problems with my hair (except increased loss before exams, when I was a student). On the contrary: I always felt that my hair was too thick, since I had a lot of problems styling it and finding the right hairstyle in the first place.

Straight hairline is rather unlikely in my family, but on my mother's side, as well as on my father's side, there's no bald men. My father, my grandfathers, even grand grandfathers - they all preserved their hair.

So I felt rather safe in tems of balding. Hovever, although I never had a straight hairline, it seems like my corners become even deeper and my hairline become kinda more 'rough' in general.

Obviously, I started to worry that there's somethig wrong going on.

I would be grateful for some advice.

That's exactly what my hair used to look like. I would start on the big 3 if you can if not just get on finasteride and you'll be fine.

So is this for sure male pattern baldness? No one in my family experienced balding, so this would be quite unusual.

I imagine my hair would look similar to this now if I didn't have such a terrible hairline to start with. It probably is male pattern baldness, but it could be extremely slow, or eve stop soon. Might just be maturation, but it does look affected. Mine's been receding since the age of 14 (19 now) and it's still easily concealable. I'll probably get much worse but I'm getting MHT anyway so who cares eh?!

faust relax, its not 100% male pattern baldness.
If you have the same hairline as your family then theres a good chance yours will stay as it is.
The best thing to do is monitor it for upto year and watch what it does, rather then just jump on the band wagon of treatments. OR SEE A DERM.
Its not clearly falling out and looks strong in places, the weaker areas of hair could be those left over from your hairline maturing.

people who say thats how mine looked doesn't mean anything, ermm your not him are you? your nw2 so everybody on this forum probs had hair similar to yours at one point, just some people keep balding and some people will stop were you are.

It is most definitely balding. Look at how the hairs in the front are thinning out, with the much thicker hair a bit behind there. Hair has disappeared from your temples over time, and it is thinner overall.

It's rough because no one wants to admit they're balding--but you are. How fast and how much you'll bald I don't know, that can only be told by genetics, but if no one in your family is balding then you just got the short end of the stick when it comes to hair genes.

If you don't want to go bald/ lose more hair, I'd suggest confirming your hair loss with a dermatologist right now and starting whichever treatment you choose. Denying potential hair loss can be comforting for now, but if it gets worse you're gonna kick yourself. Just maintaining your hair is easy with finasteride/ minoxidil and you're at a good stage to keep what you have. You have a great chance to see some regrowth too.
