I was wondering if anybody knew much about this. I have researched it and see that it is used as a med for Alopecia areata but not as a male pattern baldness combatant.

i am about a norwood 2 temples and have thinning on my crown like norwood 3v.

I have recently started using products from Japan (where i live) called Hatsumoru-s and hatsumoru oral medication. ive been on the oral medication for about 2 and a half months and i started using the topical (hatsumoru-s) about 3 weeks ago. This was added to my current regime of minoxidil (1% morning, 5% night), adenogen twice daily and saw palmetto oral med.

After intial shedding for about 3 weeks on the oral stuff I noticed much less shedding than previously (even less than with minoxidil) by 2 months I noticed dark thin hair growing an extra centimetre and more from my hairline and the thinning on my top looking slightl more filled in. so i started the topical application soon after - which actually shed my new hair again - woops . but has now stopped shedding and im hoping for the best.

ANYWAY - as it seems to be working very well i was wondering what people knew about cepharanthin which is said to be the active ingredient. why is it not used in more products?

So im just past the three month mark using the oral stuff and in my second month of topical. the results were really nice - filling in of the crown and my temples had some nice "fuzz growth" extending a cm down from the receeded hairline. However - I thought as i had a better response to revivogen than to minoxidil I would introduce that into my regime. Having done so im going through the dreaded shedding phase again and over the last week and abit have lost alot of hairs through shedding, striping my weaker regrowth hairs. . Im sure theyll grow back . I have also cut down minoxidil to once daily. I will keep y'all updated
