Aside from Big 3, what else have you been doing/taking?

Hey all. Aside from the big 3, have you guys added anything to your regimen?

I heard of supplementing the big 3 with saw palmetto, stinging nettle root, msm, pumpkin seed oil and also applying emu oil / jojoba oil / castor oil to the scalp. Also things like tricomin...nanogen.

What have you guys been using that may have helped you aside from the big 3?

My whole regimen has none of the big 3 in, minoxidil is a pathetic excuse of a treatment in 2015, the responder rate isn't very high, you're tied down to it for life and it ages skin. Also if you're extra unlucky like me then minoxidil will make you shed but not regrow the hairs back. minoxidil made me go from nw1.5 to 2 and made my hair pathetically thin in the space of 4 months, 0 signs of regrowth! If i were you I would look into stemoxydine and adenogen as well as maybe egcg pill to help prevent fibrosis. Although we are so close to a lot of new treatments it is best to get on an AA if you can. The natural route will send you bald.

There's not much to gain by adding natural stuff. There is very little evidence that anything natural works. You could look into adding RU to the Big 3. RU in addition to the Big 3 would be an amazing combo.

But you are using dutasteride though, which acts as one of your Big 3 as it does exactly the same thing as finasteride but is even more powerful.

I've had good results from minoxidil myself. I've been applying it just to my temples and hairline for about six months so far, and my temples have since moved forward about half a norwood. I'm also using dutasteride, which I've used for a lot longer, but this temple regrowth didn't begin until after adding minoxidil to my regimen. I've heard that about two thirds of minoxidil users experience some regrowth due to the treatment, and in my opinion it is well worth it for a male pattern baldness sufferer to give it a try. If used as a stand-alone treatment without also using an antiandrogen, it is of limited use over the long term, however.

Aside from the Big 3, you can try adding RU58841 and Stemoxydine, I think that's basically it. You can replace Finasteride with Dutasteride for a little extra DHT inhibition if desired, but usually is not needed.

@Rudolphus: Yeah, Minoxidil is good stuff, it's the only treatment in my regimen I use twice daily, all the other ones I'm on are once a day. I honestly believe if researchers can figure out exactly how Minoxidil helps promote hair growth, I think they'd be able to develop amazing treatments coming of from it.

I have never heard of RU, can you expand on that? Where do you obtain it?

Thanks for your response, where do you obtain RU58841? Do you have any research or findings that back up the claims of it working for hair loss?

Hm, I never heard of Stemoxydine either. Got to do my research tonight...

Do you guys have any good experiences with Saw Palmetto? I heard it is a DHT blocker. Same for Stinging NEttle Root extract (which also has some claims of more hair loss..)

I obtain my RU58841 from TheKaneShop, they're a legit source. Here's a study done with RU58841 compared with Finasteride.

https://www.infona.pl/resource/bwmeta1.element.elsevier-5d8b8e9a-87d8-3665-a251-1f766eb8cef1

Stemoxydine is almost like a really mild Minoxidil, I can tell it does something that helps, but not sure how to describe it. I'm using a product called Neogenic which contains the active compound, and I mix the RU58841 into it and is used as a vehicle. About Saw Palmetto, don't expect much, it practically does next to nothing at treating baldness. Saw Palmetto has been to have somewhat, just somewhat of an anti DHT effect in the prostate, that's about it. Stinging Nettle root extract won't do anything either, no natural treatment works to treat genetic hair loss, please don't waste any time on your hair playing around with treatments that don't work.

Very interesting, thanks. I'll definitely look at RU.

How do you take RU? Don't you have to mix a solution yourself like in a chem lab?

You get a powder sachet of RU, weigh out a bit of the powder and put it in a vehicle, neogenic works but is quite penatrative, classic ethanol/pg also works (pretty sure it's the vehicle for neogenic) but is also quite penatrative as well as a few others but neogenic is probably the easiest. Neogenic comes in the forms of 28 little cannisters each containing 6ml of the substance, it is not necessary to use all 6ml in one go. At this rate neo would cost you about $120 a month, I use 2ml a day so Neo costs $40 a month.

Fluridil (eucapil) is a useful treatment as well. It's not as strong as RU. But it's far better than revivogen. For those looking for a side effect free propecia alternative.

Hi, what do you think about fluridil vs flutamide?
