It began when I was 23 years old my friends told me when we had a party that I was thinning in the back of my head. I didn't like it and told them that I worked on some solution to fight it.. but then I had no solution for it.

I tried several different treatments; first Fabalol 101 (or a similar name like that) which had a terrible smell and when I heard someone saying that it was so I stopped using it.

After that I went through different web-sites searching for possible solutions and found out it was a new medication called Propecia. I started with this and was on/off several times (had to little patience). And when I didn't have any changes I started to use Rogaine.

But Rogaine I quit very fast because it caused a very tinnitus in my head everytime I applied it to my head.

For 2 years ago I started on Propecia again and this time I did it the right way. I was on propecia for 1 year and I saw improvement in both stopping the hearloss and some hair regrowth.

But then when the summer came (after 1 year) my ear begin to losing hearing possiblities and one day I woke up beside my wife and I couldn't hear she speaking to me. I was afraid this was the propecia and stopped taking this and also stopped taking a allergy medicine. After some weeks I got the hearing back but it was not so good again. After some months again I started on using propecia because I saw hair shedding again.

Some months later I bought an Lasercomb and after using this for a month and using thickening shampo my hair was much better and I was very satisfied.

In august this year I got a new problem with my ears and didn't hear well all sounds is strange and I sound like I'm in a box and hearing only dark tones. This situation I have been with for 3-4 weeks now. I'm hearing lesser better but still not functional normal in communication with people because I got a very severe tinnitus (noise in my ears).

So no I'm not on Propecia and not on the Laser. I'm not looking forward to start loosing my hair, but I will not loose my hearing.

Have any one else had problem with the hearing use any of thoose produts mention here ? I have been to several doctors and ear specialists. I have got hearing devices but when I use this my ear got tinnitus and irritated because I can hear clear sounds.

I wonder if Propecia does anything with the 15500 ear hair which we have in the inner-ear ?

Can anyone give me a detail information about that or some similiar reactions ?

I'm curious why you would consult with a doctor, regarding you hearing loss, presumably ignore their advice and ask a bunch of baldies like us. ;) Seek PROFESSIONAL advice... stick to it.
Anyhow, best of luck with your hearing.

I have been to doctors many times and a lot of different specialist. Nobody can tell me what cause the reason. The only thing I have noticed is that when I stop taking Propecia the symptoms go away.

But this last time it want go away and now it's a constant sound in my ear as somebody boiling something. I think it is a allergic reaction to the stuff in finasteride. I've been away from it in 1 month now and I start slowly to hear better, but I notice very bad hearing; sound is converted into terrible noise..

So if there is not propecia .. I don't now what it is.. I am a healthy person that does not smoke and have correct diet...
