What's up Fellas...it's been a while.

Well, been on Propecia since Mar 04 and now I'm taking the big plunge into hair transplant with Dr. Armani.

My temples and my hairline have thinned I'm having hairline reconstruction and temple angle closure.

I will have to use 2860 Follicar Units.

The long term goal is to keep having hair transplant to make it seemless that I'm losing hair. I still have very thick hair on top, so I figure by closing the temples and thicking up the hairline I can buy myselft another 1 to 2 years before I have to have more procedures done.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

it seems you will always be following your hairloss but hopefully the loss will stabilise ,good luck with the transplant

Thanks Antonio.

I want to add that I spoke to the doctor about future hairloss and here is what he said with new fue procedure they can maximize the amount of grafts that are able to be extracted. Most people have an average of 10,000 to 12,000 grafts available.

I feel pretty confortable with following my hairloss. With Propecia, I might be battleing ZONE 1 and 2 in the next few years and work on the the remaining areas in the years to come.

Damn Tony, it has been a while!

Since you've been gone, I have been banned twice on accident! Mistaken identity. Hence the III after my username. I also seem to have copied your avatar of using Tony Montana!

Anyways, back to your hair...

So you are getting the transplant in zone 1? You were a diffuse thinner right? Or are you just a receder? How's the hair holding up on the top around the vertex etc?

I'd be really carefull with the numbers they throw at you. 10-12K FUE is way too much. They also may be taking these grafts in an area that is high and suseptible to male pattern baldness. You may experience visible thinning in the donor region and let me tell you I've seen donor thinning and it looks horrible. You should consider this. Just looking out. ;)

And that's why ultimately, many choose to do strip for both yield and overall donor appearance.

Hey Gillenator,

Would you say for someone who essentially wants his hairline thickening and defined better along with filling a few gaps in the sides is better haveing FUE or strip for the best result?

How large of a session (grafts) is being considered?

Then please inform me as to the extent of hairloss in his family history and if the patient is having success with meds.

About 1500 grafts, been on meds successfully for over 5 years and family history is a norwood 4

In the hands of a talented proven FUE surgeon, 1500 grafts will not have an impact on donor appearance UNLESS the extractions are confined to a smaller area of the donor zone.

Glad to hear the meds have worked well for you and the fact that there are no advanced Norwood classes in family history.

Best wishes to you! :hairy:

Brosef! Kicked out huh? How does that not surprise me. :) Accident huh? I'm glad you have my avatar meng! If I had to choose anyone to carrrrry on the Montana attitude it would be you!

Ok to my hair...

It has been a while! I pretty much stopped thinking about hairloss for sometime. But now it's finally progressing a bit up front.

Right now the sides are thinning....temple and so is the front. I'm looking at ZONE 1 to thicken up the hair and re-design the temples angles. At this point, I believe i'm a receder. My hair up top is still super thick. I have held on too my hair much longer then my uncles whom are all pretty much bald by my age. My father has his hair still so I think that helps a bit. My end goal is to keep what I have...I'm a bit scared to start now and then have to keep going and then running out of donor area. What are your thoughts?

I think this is some of the concern that LookinGood has, which I appreciate.

How is the Gardner? Does he still come around here? Tyan? I see a lot of familiar names still!
