Areas you are losing: How do you treat them in the shower?

Sup folks...I just started "the big 3" for some major shedding on top...and am wondering how you go about treating your hair when you shower? Are you supposed to be gentle when rubbing the areas you are trying to regrow (to prevent pulling new hairs out)...or it is ok to vigorously clean them to get rid of all the minoxidil and oil that builds up during the day?

I have a buzzed head and think it feels better to scrub my scalp with my hands and fingernails to remove dead skin/oil, etc. It seems that a compeltely clean scalp would be the healthiest growing environment for new hairs...however I'm afraid by vigorously cleaning/rubbing the areas, I may be pulling out the baby hairs trying to grow in.

When those new follicles start to form, are the hairs strong enough to withstand a good rubbing in the shower, or do they come out because they are too small and weak? Is it better to just mildly clean/shampoo thinning areas to give the hair time to grow, or should the area be thoroughly cleaned to clear out the pores?

Being rough might break some hairs, but you're not gonna damage the follicles. Don't be a wuss in the shower, it won't change a thing. I treat my hair equally everywhere, and dry pretty roughly with the towel, and my hair is still improving, it really doesn't matter. Either your hair will grow back, or it won't, either way your showering habits won't have an effect on the mechanisms at work beneath the skin.
