Are These Horror Stories I Keep Hearing About Rogaine True?

Yo,

So I'm thinking about adding Rogaine 5% foam to my regimen of Propecia and Nizoral and after doing a little reading up on it on some of the hair loss forums... I've noticed a considerable amount of users talking about how Rogaine destroyed their hair, thinning it out horrendously in an extremely short period of time, with no regrowth in sight. I recall one poster saying they had been using it for nearly a year with no results and had a much thinner head of hair than when they started. Another story I read involved a person literally cursing the day they ever started it and wishing they could go back in time to stop themselves. Not very encouraging stuff...

So my question is... Are these stories at all true?

I understand rogaine foam can potentially cause your hair to shed in the first few months, but these people I mentioned were talking about it destroying their hairlines within a couple of weeks and never getting any of it back.

I made a thread asking about an online retailer where you can purchase the stuff yesterday, and even in that thread someone commented that Rogaine had made their hair loss worse and to be careful.

Can someone reassure me? I am in the early stages of diffuse thinning and I'd really like to get on top of this with the Big 3 now... I'd hate to take the medication only to end up looking worse than when I started.

Any thoughts or feelings on this topic would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matw

In what way was your heart damaged? You went to a cardiologist for testing and he concluded that you using minoxidil damaged your heart?

Ive been on rogaine foam for years as well as propecia and for the last couple years nizoral. I havent had any problems with any of the products. My only minor problem was actually when I first started on rogaine topical solution my scalp started itching but then it went away when i switched to the foam. For me their mostly slowing or stopping hair loss rather than regrowing a lot back. But I'm pretty positive if I wasnt on anything I would be bald by now considering my family history.

I'm still trying to get the specific information about how heart disease was diagnosed and then definitley tied back to the use of minoxidil. That was certainly a drive by post with no real explanation.

the foam helped my temples in like 2 months as well as other places on my head.

but nizoral on the other hand was a complete horror story for me.

Used it 3x a week. Lossed 30-50% of my hair all over my head. Took 3-5 months for it to come back.

So there i just messed up your logic.

Do you mean all over or just in male pattern baldness areas?
