We have an active donation thread for raising funds to send Hellouser to the 10th HLC in October. They're using Gofundme to collect the donations. I've been told that Gofundme charges 10%. The costs will be about $6,000 for the trip so Gofundme will charge $600. Does anyone else think it's a good idea to use a cheaper way, such as paypal, to collect the donations? Will posters please post whether or not they favor using Gofundme ($600) as things are already set-up, or using a less expensive method, which might even be free.
I will say that I think we should dump Gofundme and use paypal instead, or find some other method to collect the donations that is cheap or free. IMO there's just no reason to throw $600 away.
