Are scalp peels effective?

There has been talk of wounding, DMSO, WNT signaling etc etc. I have a 2 week break coming up and I was thinking of doing a moderate strength scalp peel at home? Any suggestions? is it worth it?

BTW, i'm NW6 and shave my head, so full-scale scalp peel isn't an issue for me.

Curious about this also. I just started the needling, but I definitely wonder about how one goes about doing a scalp peel.

I've TCA peeled my face before pretty successfully to wear down some acne scars. Can't imagine using the same stuff on my head.

I also have acne scars on my face, what % peel did you use on your face? did it stayed pink/red for few days? was it too harsh to use on scalp?

I used 12.5% TCA... but I worked my way up to it. You should gradually see what your skin can handle.
I started with a 10% glycolic (everyone can swing that), then went to 30% glycolic, then 12.5% TCA.

I personally wouldn't go any higher than that... if you want to get any stronger, you can just do multiple applications of the TCA.

Oh, to clarify... yeah I can't imagine using 12.5% TCA on my head. There is a lot of redness and peeling. There is a lot of potential to fry your skin. I would only consider it if I had a buzz cut.

I do shave my head and I have about 2 week break coming up thats why I'm researching scalp peels - if those could be helpful. Peel do make skin better, so before I start Proxiphen i think it would be a good idea to go with a peel.

how long did the redness & peeling last?

It really depends on the time... once my skin looked like I had baked in the sun for 1000 years. It was really ugly and I got "omg what happened!" comments from everyone I saw for 2 days until it started peeling. I'd say:

1 day pinkness
3 days fried crispy mummy-looking skin
3 days flaking / peeling
