I do believe that people are aging faster these days. Simultaneously, it seems to me that more people have health issues compared to past, so is that the cause?

Unluckily, there is no clear cut answer. What causes that health problem in the first place? Is it because of bad environment like polluted air, processed foods, unhealthy eating/sleeping habit? Is it because the food we eat is not as dense in nutrition as it used to be due to mineral depletion in the soil? Is it purely genetic? Is it because of change in society's perception towards aesthetics/physical appearance? This is an open-ended question until further research is done. Unfortunately, I doubt scientists would be interested in spending time on such a "trivial" topic.

no ones aging faster. People are aging slower than ever. There is less stressors in our life and far superior medical treatment available than any other time in history. People have been balding in their teens since the beginning of time. If anything there are actually less people balding today than any other time in history because a portion of otherwise bald people have kept their hair via modern treatment such as finasteride

I like how all the posts here have no numbers/statistics to back them up

Nope there is the same amount of hair loss today. Bald people just weren't social acceptable years ago (the reason for the dodgy combover). Now its slightly more socially acceptable now... but I stress slightly.

I wonder how baldies were depicted hundreds of years ago; or even further back to the days of cavemen....
I'm guessing baldies weren't too popular, I think rape helped them a lot. lol.

It is both. It is alpha and dominant, but can also be seen as hypermale. Society likes averages people. Look you don't want some softy 5'2" average body with gorgeous skin and soft brunette hair aspiring artist who can't speak to someone on the phone in public, and you also don't want some chick that has a robust voice, is too competitive and thinks its weird to act feminine. Thats why supermodels like alessandro ambrosia have masculine features that we find attractive; height, strong jaw, good muscle tone; but the classic female features we do too; plump lips, soft thick hair, beautiful skin. I'm with hellouser that it is too hypermale. Go to a super liberal town and you are taken as too competitive, too serious, too alpha and want to be better than the other guy. I'm not like most on here that think society despises bald guys, but I do think it holds these stereotypes mentioned and that is why I take a DHT inhibitor.

And to the OP's original question I do think somewhat for unknown reasons. For me I think it was stress and the fact I wanted to grow up too fast and have a career. Hairloss put that all in perspective and luckily am able to do something about it, and now don't have the extreme pain of feeling like a 55 yr old man in my 20's.

Maybe you are just noticing it more when you got concerned about your own hair loss? I know thats what happened to me, now I notice it a lot, especially when someone has a really nice head of hair.
