Are Mono Units Machine-Made? Are they that bad?

I'm seeing a lot more advertisements for mono units.

From what I've heard here, lace, for whatever reason, is less available since the stupid pandemic hit.

Owing to their abundance, I started wearing skin units, but I'm not a fan of no ventilation.

What's the deal w/ Mono? No one here talks about them...

Where are you seeing ads for mono units? I think mono takes more time to make than even lace units if they're hand-made which is why you don't see anyone talk about them especially since the pandemic. I'm not sure about them being machine-made though

Just switched back to lace & it's a good feeling!

_HATED_ all poly, whether .02 or .06mm. It's just not the same :)

For me, it is 0.08 poly all the way. It is a bit easy to install and clean up :) But lace has better natural looking than poly for sure.

Though I wear poly, I agree with you. I had one lace and the way the hair flows, unlike v-loop puff ,is much preferred. Unfortunately with my oily skin, I cannot get it to stick..... And the way my body breaks down the adhesive, I couldn't imagine cleaning it... after it creeped into the hair..
Conversly, the longer I let it go with Poly, the easier the tape comes off the base... and clean up is all together easier.

How long can you keep a strong hold with a skin unit? I’ve only used lace and, at most, I can get 10 days (usually clean/ re-attach every 7 days) without the tape breaking down too much. If I try to get 14 days, it’s a goopy mess. I’d be down to try a skin unit if you think I can get a clean 2 weeks. I don’t expose my hairline, so a thicker skin is fine.

How long a hold wear you getting. You mention you use tape primarily - it's a breeze w lace. Just don't let it breakdown.

When I used tape & lace, I'd only get 4-5 days w the strongest tapes.

I was, at the time, using MOUNTAINS of products, and would shampoo and condition in the shower. I can't imagine the conditioner didn't loose the bond - same, too, w the products.

BTW 99 alcohol TRUMPS C22.

C22 is good for removal of adhesive from the HEAD & nothing more. It is a recipe for creating a mess & losing hairs way prematurely.

It also is a BURDEN to use as it's very difficult to wash out. Yes, you can wipe off the excess on poly systems, but can't w lace.

Mystery, you really should try wearing skin IMO. You might hate it but you can always go back to lace? Trying new companies and base types is a short term risk but you could end up with something you prefer and never look back. I do this as often as I can.

Have you tried knotted skin?

From what I've experienced, .06mm isn't much different from the thinnest UTS. The base looks very white though, so it's best to cover the hairline.
