Applying Rogain foam once a day before bed

Im considering stopping my Rogain foam usage all together. I used to apply it twice a day but now currently only apply it once a day (before bed). It got to the point where it actually made my hair look thinner when I applied it before I went out for the day so I decided to stop it once day. Its been a few weeks now and I dont think I saw a noticleable shed of hair (im only applying the foam to the front hairline. (because im not losing any in the back).

Honestly I want to stop its usage alltogether since Im only applying it once a day Im not really sure what affect it is even having on my hairline. Im also currently on propecia so any gain I got might have been from that. Is this a bad idea to stop applying it once a day? I worry that either the once a day application isnt doing anything anyways or that a bunch of hair is going to fall out once I stop applying it every night.

Anyone with experience with this? Is applying it once a day even effective? Am I going to lose some hair once I stop usage?

hi mate

how long were u on it for?

i was pretty much in the same boat as you. I had been on it inconsistently for about 2 years without any visible results. I too had decided i wasn't a responder and the hassle and cosmetic compromise to my hair wasn't a fair trade off so i quit.

Anyway - all was good for approx 3 months. Then i had a hellish shed. My hair has thinned dramatically all over and i can no longer conceal my hairloss on the crown (ive clearly got a bald stop appearing).

My fringe seemed to stay in place though so im not sure what advice to give you

Ive also been told that a study says that hair will grow back, we will see.

Regardless, half way through my shed i went straight back on minoxidil. Im actually now on nanominox -ms which is much cleaner than regular stuf and dries really fast. You can literally take a shower 20minutes later....

So id recommend staying on it. Certainly dont just jump off it right awya like i did anyway lol wouldn't wish the shed i had on anyone :(

Ya Im only using Rogain on the front hairline because I don't have much of a loss in the back. Will the Rogain applied once a day maybe atleast make the hair on my frontal hairline grow quicker or possibly thicker. It's really either once a day for me or not at all. (not going back to twice a day application)

I saw Dr. Bernstein (bernsteinmedical.com) for a consultation, and he says that if you use it once a day (applying a little more liberally... maybe like 1.5 or 2x the Rogaine), that similar results should be seen.

Dr. Bernstein is one of the top hair transplant surgeons in the country. Whenever I go on an airplane, I see his picture in those sky magazines under "The Best Doctors In the Country".

Interesting. I've been using 5% minoxidil once a day and I'm happy with it but I'm applying only 1ml.
I think I will go up to 1.5 ml.

I just cant use it twice a day, my lifestyle doesnt allow it.

Iv had great results using stronger minoxidil once per day.

if i were you id switch from foam and go for liquid minoxidil and heavilly apply it, like i said earlier maybe even a stronger minoxidil, alongwith retin-a or something.
