Does anyone else have difficulty getting through their hair to apply minoxidil?

I have pretty long hair, like 2 foot long, and while I'm thinning on top, I'm still having trouble getting through my hair to apply it to my scalp. I use regaine with the extra long nozzle and press it right against my scalp as best I can, but I still feel too much is getting on my hair. Sometimes when i squirt it I can't even feel it on my scalp. I've tried cotton buds but they don't hold very much and I still can't feel it on my scalp.

Mmmm, you could try combing the hair in sequential partings to reveal scalp over the thinning areas then running the nozzle along. Each time attempt to spread it with the finger tips along the scalp to your next planned parting.

This is what I did for years before getting my hair buzzed. It takes forever but is the only way to know you covered all areas.

I use to keep my hair long for so many years since I could use comb overs and well long hair made my look 1% more hunky

And then I noticed it just looked stupid, nice and short and easy to apply now that is the key to getting minoxidil to work better on the old head.

Also now when a gust of wind occurs I can not need to worry ;)

My hair is pretty long too and usually tied. ^ That' what I do. Hair being damp helps a lot. When rubbing into scalp with finger be sure to where a latex glove

So many guys use gloves? I find after 6 years of using minoxidil just use your fingers to massage it in if you want to then wash it well with soap at least this way you get to your skin and not half on the surrounding hair.

Never had any side effects of skin or finger/hand issues either.... think about it half the time minoxidil runs down the side of the face and top head.... its on your skin anyhow for 24hrs, 1 minute on the finger tips or hands ain't gonna destroy mankind :)

@ catman, I'm not quite in the comb over territory yet! I usually just let it do what ever it does and wear it down, I'm not sticking it in place to cover anything up!

@ Einstein, cheers man, I'll give that a go. I was worried that dmap hair may actually dilute minoxidil, but i suppose once the water and alcohol evaporates away, you've still got the same amount of minoxidil. And since the solvent base is probably an oil, it may not get on my hair so much!
