How do people like this guy manage to make their hair look full and play down receding hairlines so well even with a lot of recession?

Prolly cause it's only his temples that have receded and his forelock is still thick so he can do a lot with that.
When you're receding + diffusing like I am over the whole top then this kind of thing doesn't work.

He doesnt. I think the guy looks like he is balding and you cant really ever hide it honestly. The pictures look like different timelines and are all different angles and lighting so its hard to tell much of anything.
His hair is pretty full, but he has a receding hairline if I ever saw one.

Here's the deal guys... Most NORMAL people (i.e., people NOT on hair loss forums), don't look at hairlines often or ever. Most people would think he has a full head of hair. This applies double for women. I'm a super NW2 and had an asian hairdresser chick tell me that my hair looked fine when I told her I was on propecia.

Call it whatever you want. That instagram page is a prime example of everything that's wrong with social media. "Hey everyone! Pay attention to me and my life! Look how handsome I am at all these angles!" It's a reflection of a mindset that's pussy as f*ck

It's very obvious that he's receding, it doesn't look like a full head of hair at all. Luckily for him he's not diffuse, so he can still style his hair nicely. He's also a fairly attractive guy so his hairline is less noticeable. It's the same thing with Jude Law, he's so attractive that most people don't think about the fact that he's severely balding. Unfortunately for us average looking dudes our hair loss is very noticeable because it makes us 10X less attractive when we can't style our hair nicely. For me my extremely thick hair was a defining characteristic that I loved about my appearance and now I feel like I look like sh*t.
