Speaking of females, I had an issue last night that may (or may not) have been due to the dutasteride.

I just started seeing a very attractive girl that I met in law school. Last night when we got back from a club, things started really heating up. Before I knew it, we were getting down to business. It turned into that crazy, drunk sex that takes place all over the house. However, when it finally moved to her bedroom where I thought I could let the boys out, I was unable to close the deal! I couldnt believe it - I wasn't even that drunk! Of course, she got kinda frustrated thinking it was something with her. And there's nothing you can really say to ameliorate this type of situation. Desperate for an excuse, I blamed it on the alcohol.

I am pretty sure that this issue was not totally attributable to the alcohol. I have a feeling that the dutasteride, along with my anti-depressant (paxil), contributed significantly to the problem. Have any of you guys had similar problems, and if so, what do you recommend? I mean, yeah hair is making good progress thanks to dutasteride, but this other thing is a major problem! Very embarassing. End of rant!

that thing happens. It's even happened to me. dutasteride has stopped me from finishing before-- or maybe I'm just getting older. Who really cares what she thinks? I'm sure you'll get another chance with her.

Absolutely correct.

Sean, I still don't give Dutas, Duprost, etc. my complete trust because of the many conflicting reports, and the widespread illegitimacy of Indian generics.

I do have a renewable prescription for Avodart, but I choose not to have to covered by my insurance. I'm afraid of losing my coverage, and I can't handle that right now.

So, my only alternatives are to (1) use Dutas, Duprost, or Veltride, (2) go the finasteride route, (3) give up on internal DHT-inhibitors for the time-being (not bloody likely )

I'm a poor college student, and it's difficult enough affording meat from my local deli.

I have been on proscar for 12+ months and my hairloss just seems to be progressing. No improvement, but maybe it slowed down? I want to consider trying dutasteride, but I am afraid of the side effects. finasteride only gave me the watery effect and nothing else. If I went on dutasteride and got the gyno, I wouldn't know what would be worse. The hairloss or the gyno. Any advice you can provide would help alot.

well done mate. great results. but, i cant agree with that decreased libido bit unless its in ur head. no way would propecia give a higher decreased libido than advodart.

Well my libido on dutasteride twice a week seems to be much higher than on propecia

Started my own dutas experiment yesterday, gonna take it twice a week, to see if I get sides. And twice a week should still be helpful against hairloss right?

I feel no difference today. Both times ive started propecia, I got acne the day after my first pill..

sorry for the late reply. Proscar for 12 months, eh? Are you aware the the highest amount of regrowth and effect from Propecia is seen between 12-24 months? ( http://www.propecia.com ) You might want to continue Propecia for another few months, just to see if it's a shed. Some people on this forum really improve after a year.

You might also want to look into Rogaine Foam. Non-itching, convenient... wonderful product that REALLY regrows your hair.

My friend, if you start using dutasteride, you probably won't get gyno. Only 1-2% of people did (this number is probably lower), and it's not something that magically appears. You can stop using the drug if you notice signs of it, and it will go away.

I personally think you might want to continue Proscar, add Rogaine, and wait things out for another 6 months. If it doesn't go your way, then talk to your doctor about dutasteride.

I can assure you that the side effects I had on Propecia were VERY bad... The inability for a 19-year-old to "get it up," was diminished and very obvious. I am giving my complete, honest opinion. I hope none of these side effects are "in my head," as you suggest. Thank you for your compliments.

goodluck on your little experiment. Keep your doctor informed of what you're doing. Your health is most important. It sounds like what you're doing is safe, and you might eventually want to do more than 2x dutas/week.

Hi Danish,
nonetheless, if you're not going to talk to some doctors, then I think you should get some blood tests taken before and during your treatments. (Just to err on the safe side.)

You may want to keep in contact with Dr. Rassman ( http://www.baldingblog.com ) and explain your situation to him. He might give you some good advice.

Excellent post. I really enjoyed reading it. Your hairloss nowadays isn´t diffuse at all, you just have a mature NW2 hairline. Good Luck for the future!
