Help please!

Is there anyone or anyone's accounts that you know of where someone had continued itching scalp and hair loss (ie the symptoms they had pre-Propecia did not resolve at all) who moved up to dutasteride and these issues all resolved themselves.

It seems that everywhere I have read so far you just see people having continued hair loss.

I think the key is treating the cause of the itch which I believe might be fugal infection/ gut imbalance related, but I would love to know as I'm considering taking the risk!

Dutasteride did not help me. Infact i think it has hurt me more by making my body unable to accept hairloss treatments

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about most.

You reckon it downregulated the receptors, or something?

Like once you take dutasteride for a period, Propecia will never work.

Sorry to hear that, btw.

I'm in the same boat though :(

I have read that the itch is believed by some people to be a DHT thing and that maybe if your DHT is higher than the average hair loss sufferer dutasteride could for some people get it in the appropriate range.

That's why I'm considering it and thinking it could work.

If anything i think it upregulated my receptors. and now i may be suffering an immune response also as my scalp is so sensitive now and i can't use certain shampoos or even something mild like coconut oil because of inflammation.

And i didn't even get through a whole box of dutasteride. Its also possible the switch from finasteride to dutasteride could have been abit of a shock to my system and now I'm paying for it... i dunno.

You won't know if it work for you until you try. many have had success with it. but many would also advise to be cautious too since its stronger then finasteride.

From my experience it may turn out to have been a huge mistake going on dutasteride.
