Anyone using generic 2% nizoral shampoo notice that....

IT MAKES YOUR HAIR LOOK LIKE ABSOLUTE CRAP? Seriously, I use this stuff and my hair (what is left) turns into a horrible tangle of a mess. I used to use the brand name 2% Nizoral but that is 40 bucks a bottle now! Even at Costco pharmacy! The generic is about 18 bucks a bottle so I said screw it and bought it...but now I'm kind of regretting it. Anyone using the generic have reccomendations? Thanks guys

40 dollars per bottle? is it a 120mL bottle for 2% ketaconazole? Because seriously it costs less than 1/2 of that in Canada; it might be due to needing a prescription down there in the states or something...

yes, about $40 a bottle for the name brand one by mcneil. i got the generic for about 18 thinking it would be the same but it demolished my hair. I'm guessing both of you are from canada since it's over the counter there.

Yes, I'm from Canada... I haven't noticed a big difference in the consistency of my hair, to be completely honest. I've been using it close to a year, but I've also added much to my regimen. But it certainly hasn't demolished anything yet.

Try a conditioner... I always use it with a conditioner.

I've heard the 1% is only slightly less effective, just use that instead.
