I still can't find anyone that quit taking finasteride for a while and then start back up again. I mean quit longer than 6 months.

I know you are just trying to get information, but this kind of stuff is really scaring people for no good reason. No studies just random people saying yeah I quit and now my life is destroyed. I would say if studies are being conducted lets wait for those results. Most of what we are going to find on here is unsubstantiated BS. I am sure that people have had issues before and after taking the drug, but this kind of stuff makes it seem certain that you are screwed if you decide to take the only thing that really works.

This is a very powerful fear mongering tactic. You are pretty much trying to convince everybody: If you take it then you will surely get sides. If you have been taking long term without sides you are not out of the woods because when you quit you will still get sides. Just stop.

I'm fishing for evidence to give me a reason to retake the drug. Not trying to scare people away from it. All I'm asking for is stories from other users like me that quit after long term use and then decide later on to start retaking it with no problems. I can find anything because of the ones who do quit stay quit or go back on at a ridiculous lower dose that doesn't make sense to me

Bro i have to agree with diffuser here.. Why do u say that he should stop? Why hide a bad experience with finasteride? I find it very important for people to know that even though only a small percentage of people get side effects that these side effects are quite bad.. Also he is just trying to hear from others who may have experienced something similar.

I have read many posts about bad experiences on finasteride and that made my mind, i will never take finasteride in my life even if it means going bald..

Sides are just too bad to risk taking, and they never did studies of long term use of finasteride(10+years).. I honestly think that the longer u use it, the more likely u r to getting horrible sides (some permanent).. Im having quite good results with just keto shampoo+azelaic acid+minoxidil.. IMO these are the only ones worth using

I think in the one long term study they did on prostate cancer they only really counted the men that stayed on the drug that entire time. Who knows how many men quit whether due to financial reasons or what not.

I get one notcoolanymore is saying though, maybe it doesn't apply to my post
above but it could to some of my other posts. The thing most men aren't going to linger around on hair loss forums so it's hard to find the men with similar experiences to mine.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to restart. I just need to prep myself for it.

I thought you were getting off the forums for a while to get your head right before restarting finasteride? Don't you dare even think about leaving. You have been scaring the hell out of me and other finasteride users for the past month with your threads and posts and now you want to leave to make sure you are mentally ready before you restart? I don't think so. You even went as far as to start anti finasteride/pro bald threads to make us beautiful/classy finasteride users feel like we were being vain and not masculine.

Now you are thinking about rejoining the hair growth club? Your membership has been revoked. One last thing, I have been trying to get my wife pregnant for the past six months and have been unsuccessful, so I went to the doctor to get some test done. I got my results this past Friday, I am completely sterile.

Just kidding man, hope nobody takes any of this seriously.

Yeah! Your post puts things into perspective. To add on your phib of being sterile I don't believe there have been any permanent cases of sterile men from using finasteride. One the me. Quit finasteride their sperm counts rose and were fertile again. This is a subset of men that this happens to.
