Anyone know of a way to thin facial and eyebrow hair?

I've been using minoxidil for a while now, on and off. I'm not so sure if it's grown anything back, but my hairline has not receded or thinned anymore since I've been using it. I've also gone for as long as 2 to 3 weeks without using minoxidil, and have not really had any rebound loss. I'm not sure if this is just my genetics, I had a period of heavy shedding when I was about 16 or 17, possibly due to stress and of course teenage hormones, not to mention I wasn't in the best shape at the time and had more fat on my body. I think I lost a bit of my hairline around that time, but since then has totally halted. My dad did not go bald in his early years, and at his current age of 56 he still uses hair gel and puts his hair up and can actually pull it off. He has a bald spot and thinning, but this didn't really start happening until the current decade I believe.

Well anyways that's besides the point, since I've been using minoxidil I feel that the solution has possibly leaked down and/or diffused onto my face causing me to have thicker eyebrows and facial hair. I don't really appreciate this, as I have black hair and I already had thick eyebrows, the last thing I want is to have beetle brows, which could quite possibly be just as bad as a noticeably receding hairline.

I know this isn't exactly the sort of thing this forum focuses on, but is there any possible way to actually thin out the follicles for facial and eyebrow hair? I am wondering whether topical spironolactone would have any effect on this.

For the eyebrows I'm thinking of possibly getting them waxed. This might be helpful since I am actually noticing a slight thickening of the vellous hairs on my actual forehead. The hairs are still pretty thin and it's not like I'm turning into a wolf man, but I think it might possibly be causing a slight subtle discoloration of my complexion.

Man I can't wait for interctex's new press release thats supposed to be posted on their site later today, hopefully they can just come out with this stuff and once and for all I won't have to deal with this sh*t anymore!

No matter what any drug company tells you , Minoxidil gets in your blood hence you getting more hairy. Its not because it drips down your face.I know this because since using minoxidil i have gotten back hair ,shouder hair and face hair. Its not like the minoxidil slides down to my back.To counter this i stopped minoxidil for 6 months and now recently started again at 1ml once daily.

I have never really thought of this before.... but I definitely think you could be right regarding minoxidil getting in the blood stream.

I first started on Rogain (2x day) when I was aged about 18/19. Within a year of starting the treatment, I too noticed lots of back and shoulder hair (which I certainly did not have before.)

Shame it didn't have the same powerful impact on restoring my hairline.... :(

It definitely goes into the bloodstream. However, it will NOT cause you to get lengthy body hair, and for me, the effect was only on my face. I get longer eyelashes that go into my eyes (ouch), forehead hair, longer eyebrows, and possibly thicker beard hair growth.

My guess is that its effect weakens completely as it goes down below the face in the bloodstream. I had electrolysis on my unibrow, ear hair, and back of neck hair and the effect is great and permanent, but it took a long time to get there and was expensive (plus my first two electrologists weren't that good).
