Hi guys,
Im just desperate, and frustrated...And i wanna know, if anyone has similar Hairsituation, and i would appreciate any Advice..
I had been on finasteride for 3 years, and it seemed to slightly slow down the process, but never halted it..and i had to quit due to sides
Trichodynia is killing me, and affecting mainly the top of my head, but even sides and back are hurting...I couldnt use minoxidil becuz of trichodynia, which ist exacerbated while on it...
Im just a sad person with no hair ...

Im too afraid, becuz i havent really recovered from Finasteride side effects till now (its been a month since my last pill)...
Ist it DUPA, what i have..I cant see a real pattern in my hair loss ..What do you think?

Yeah that doesn't look like male pattern baldness for sure. Did you see a doctor?

No not really...To be honest, i am a doctor (actually a resident), and usually doctors are just the worst patients..Im thinking about seeing a hair specialist, but its just like without offending anybody, i dont trust them somehow..Im just at a loss..My scalp hurts 24/7..Im very depressed ..

Side effects are mostly sexual..No brain fog or whatever, and the slight depression im in, comes from my Trichodynia, and not from finasteride...If i were pain free, i would be 10 times more happier ...

Anyone else care to comment, i would much appreciate it..

Well most of ppl i know, doesnt even know im balding...Just some guy told me once, that my crown is balding...But i usually keep very long hair to hide the mess..If only i part my hair, you will immediately see the damage..Left side and front are my most bad areas..But as i said..If only i was pain free, and not reminded every single second by a 10000 bee stings, that something is wrong, i would be really happy ...

^ i have a similar issue. i have scalp pain. after much research i think it's a yeast/fungal issue and/or a thyroid issue. i'd recommend cutting all wheat and dairy and see how it goes, if it improves then that was the problem, if not then try cutting out all fructose/sucrose. it sucks i know but there's definitely a solution out there.

that is not Telogen Effluvium for sure. But Androgenetic Alopecia dont hurt right?
I think it has nothing to do with DHT.
what is your Lymposytis %?(just to make sure if its any low known autoimmune type)

Well its called Trichodynia, or burning scalp syndrom, and it an really happens to everyone who is losing hair...Why would some get it, and others not, NOONE knows ...
Its just unbearable burning, itching, bruising sensation on the scalp ..Otherwise looks my scalp really good, no Redness or flakiness of any kind...
My lymphocytes count are btw. normal ....

Yes, i heard of that, in internet you find causes like depression, anxieth, etc. I dont believe it. Everyone gets depression and anxiety after getting that disorder.

If serum levels are normal and not caused by mental condition, then why the cause is unknown? the answer for this is "why would some get it, and others not, NOONE knows ..." world runs on money, if more people have this disorder like Telogen Effluvium or Androgenetic Alopecia, by now there would be proper treatment for Trichodynia, same with DUPA.

you hairline. after 18, mature hairline appears. but for your hairline is just normal as 5 year old kid.
i hope you know what i'm talking about. May be DHT affects you in different ways.
its also possible that you have more than one disorder. Trichodynia and ???

another thing haunting my mind is, your beard is not grown fully now, what about 3 years back, then why you started finasteride!!

Its just very sad..Im 100% sure, that it doesnt have anything to do with depression, and anxiety...A lot of Men who are balding are anxious an depressed, yet only part of them gets these symptoms...The problem is, you look bad, you have pain, and all people get judgemental, and tell you its only in your head, dont be superficial, but at the same time, noone wants to have anything to do with someone who looks like a cancer patient (Not trying to offend any real patient, who has cancer, stay rockhard ppl, god be with you), but what i have is for me a real disease, becuz its affecting my quality of life, and not from appearance perspective...
Trust me, i will trade this hairline with any any norwood 3 or 4 right away..It looks very very weird to have this hairline, but thin massively all over..ppl just think im not balding but already having thin hair from nature, which isnt true..I had some really really thick hair, and i hated it for almost my life (Irony of life), becuz i couldnt do anything with it without getting a towel on it an entire night, or otherwise i will be like big fluffy persian cat..
My beard was before, and after finasteride the same..i guess at least...It was never really full or thick (That makes it even harder to accept baldness)...And thos red spot are just from my constant itching all over..
Just wanted to take a moment to thank all who are replying..At least i dont feel all alone anymore, most ppl with full head of hair dont understand us...and that make everything just worst...Thx all, and if anyone has any more ideas, i will really appreciate it

Who knows may be your problem is very simple that can be cured easily with 2-4 day course medication. But you are not among majority to get return on R&D investment. There are some informations like people with with that condition have more neuropeptide P in their scalp or something related to nerve part in cells or tissues which takes no much work to find. But there is no information like why they develop so much neuro.... P thing especiall in scalp? We believe doctors like they provide solution for body problems, but what they do in this case, they just write shampoo and creams that reduces itching or itching sensation for temporary. They already found all things they can find from a biopsy. so, for you biopsy may not be useful. May be some professors and students in any popular hair institutes are scratching mind on this topic. may be they look some useful things in your biopsy. Why not a biopsy now? but its a waste if you did it in any normal lab or hospitals who just look for their biopsy checklist like
infections check ok
foreign bodies check ok
chemical check ok
cells inflamation check ok
and also people say 2 months to heal and permanant scar!!!
who knows may be you will be the first person to find causes and solution for the problem in few years!
