Ajil1978: I've been on finasteride for 8 months. It's working so far. I'm not a diffuse thinner, and had no hair loss on crown, only temples. My hairline is improving ever so slightly it seems. But I've heard sometimes it could take 3-5 yrs for hairline progress on finasteride, but it is possible.

Not really but it could just be shedding. It happened to me about 3-6 months on finasteride even though people say finasteride doesn't make too many people shed.

this guy was also using minoxidil..so minoxidil could partly be the cause of such an awesome improvement...regardless its still pretty crazy..from a NW2 to a NW1 in under 6 months

Yup. Me on the left was on my wedding day...I'd been on finasteride for 15 months. Me on the right is after being on finasteride for almost 4 years. Sometimes it just takes time and patience....

you always use this as an example...for me personally its hard to tell the difference (i am sure there is, but the difference in the way the hair is style makes it hard for me to tell how much difference there is; not sure about others thoughts.)

definitely see it there...

to change the subject... how is being married. I am currently thinking of proposing to my girlfriend soon. I love her but the whole commitment thing is making me think a lot.

edit: noticed there is no wedding band on your left hand.. howd that go

I'd actually just finished a workout. I don't wear my ring when I workout because it gives me a huge callous on my hand when I do :)

Only you know when it's right to get married. Being married is not a walk in the park, it's tough. The "easy" thing to do would have been to get divorced by now...but everyone has their bumps and bruises along the way. Just make sure that each of you brings something to the table. What would you life be like if she was suddenly out of it? How much different would it be? Is she just a companion (someone to hang out with), or is she your other half? What does she do for you? Does she make dinner, wash dishes, wash clothes, keep a neat house (any or all of those things)? Do you make sure that the trash is taken out, clean out the sink after you shave, and make sure that the lawn stays mowed and neat?

If she left and the only difference in your life would be that you don't have anyone to do stuff with, then don't propose. She (and you) need to bring something to the table that the other person doesn't have.

Well if you're not convinced that it regrew anything, at least you should acknowledge that finasteride did maintain his hair over those 4 years. Which is a success in it's own right.

Yeah for sure...Raw DEFINITELY (especially given his family history) would have been very noticeably balding by now, at the very least
