Has anyone here had gyno from taking 1.25mg finasteride then disconinued its use, but at a later date took a lower does (i.e 0.2/0.5) and been Ok?

Why did I get gyno but not suffer from the more 'popular' sides such as libido and errection problems?

The drug worked for me as far as halting hairloss but I do not want gyno again (had to have surgery).

I don't know the answer to this one, but in theory the lower dose should bring lower side effects (including gyno) but everyone is different.

Back luck about the gyno.

What did the sugery involve, was it a big procedure ?

Yeah I was gutted as popping a pill was very convienient, very cheap and it also worked. Originally I thought is was cyst/lump but the dermatologist told me it was gyno and was almost convinced that I was jacking up on steroids as I was also muscular. The operation involved a general anesthetic and a clean incision was made on the lower outline of the nipple. You can hardly see the scar and you wouldn't notice unless you looked for it - he did a great job. Luckily for me I had private medical insurance.

I'm just puzzled why I did not get any of the reversable side effects but got the worst one.
