Anyone got suggestions for stopping the minoxidil flaking?

I use Kirkland brand minoxidil once a day at night and I'm having great results.

Im thinning all over the top of my head about an inch behind the hairline but zero recession.

I apply about 1.5ml and then i rub it in with the tip of the dropper for a minute or two. Since I started rubbing it in with the dropper and not my hand about 4 months ago, Ive noticed great improvement in growth.

The only issue I have is the damn flakiness. I use nizoral every third day and was the minoxidil out of my hair every morning when I wake up.

Should I maybe use less? And yes I know about the foam, but its virtually impossible to effectively apply foam to the entire top of your head when your hair is an inch or two long. Not to mention expensive as hell.

Anyone got any suggestions/feedback?

There is no way around it unless you use a different type of minoxidil like dr lees

Yes there is.
After minoxidil apply spironolactone scream (around 1 hour apart). I noticed that it stops flaking.

Kirkland brand 5% Minoxidil caused a lot of flaking of my scalp.
As soon as I switched to roagine foam, the flaking and itching went away.
I am also using 15 % minoxidil with Azelaic acid.I guess the azelaic acid helps moisture the scalp

or you could do something easier & cheaper and switch minoxidil brands.

Hi and welcome. What brand of minoxidil 15% are you using. Just curious as I started 15% as well.

I am using the 15 % minoxidil from mopclabs. I am in the 3rd month of using it.
I think that stuff is really 15% minoxidil in a glycerin base as all previous minoxidil formulations (except rogaine foam caused heavy flaking of my scalp).
Efficacy of that is however another issue.I saw some good regrowth in the beginning..but all the new hair fall out while combing or any topical applications.
Been on 1mg finasteride too for the last 18 months..no luck either. Hair looks progressively worse everyday

I hade itch scalp sometimes with minoxidil also. But I've been applying Folligen cream 3 times a week and it has completely removed any and all dry flaky itchy skin. Well worth the $20 plus it takes very little. I fig the bottle will last me probably 3 or 4 months. I'e used it for 3 weeks now.

I used it many years ago so I knew it was a good product from past experiences.

I'm experience the skin flaking with Kirkland minoxidil as well. I'm a month into it and even with Nizoral every third day, it doesn't really help. I guess I'll look around on eBay to try and find Rogaine Foam

I had the flaking problem when I was shampooing only, since I started to conditioning my hair, the flaking stopped. I believe the my scalp was to dry to absorve the product.

Where are you guys buying the Rogaine foam from?
