Anyone Else Lose Tons Of Hair After Quitting An Antidepressant

I quit an antidepressant in November. The first month was fine but since December my temples and crown have been shedding like crazy. I'm seeing clear cut minaturising of hair. Also my scalp is super sensitive now and parts of it itch and burn a lot. When I never had this problem before.

My theory is that the antidepressant was lowering my testosterone and now that I am off my test is surging. I also have a way higher libido and get way more erections.

Anybody else have a similar experience?

Hey, sorry to hear about your situation. I posted a similar topic recently.

With me, I have been on Prozac for a month. Upon starting it, my libido shot up and I have been having more intense orgasms than ever. In this time, my hair has definitely thinned at the front. I'm really worried, particularly as my mental health is bad and I'll now have to come off the Prozac and will be too scared to try a similar medication.

There's a lot online about antidepressants and hair loss but it's about diffuse hair loss, not male pattern baldness. I basically can't find anything online about the effects of antidepressants on male pattern baldness.

Have you spoken to your doctor? What did they say? I'm presuming you had a decreased sex drive on the drug? Did you have hair loss before taking it and during or just been triggered now?
