Anyone else have great trouble getting a prescription?

I'm 22 and started to notice hair loss (and pretty drastic thinning) in the summer. Unfortunately I was just getting ready to head off for University so my it's taken a while to really get into the process of treatment. Initially I consulted a dermatologist but, after 2 months (I can only see him on weekends due to school and he made me wait on blood tests and everything) he refused to prescribe me any meds despite saying I do indeed have male pattern baldness. So, in late October, I ran out and bought some minoxidil but can't help but be annoyed by the fact that I seemingly CAN'T get on propecia in the immediate future despite knowing what's best for my condition.
I've been using minoxidil for almost a month now but still feel really, really shitty about my hair loss because - due to the lack of propecia - I feel like I'm not even ON THE WAY to possible improvement yet. I have consulted another doctor but the thought of waiting to go through all the preliminaries again has me really demoralized. I've recently started looking around on the web for places where I could potentially order the drug without a prescription; the only site I could really find from a google search is noprescriptiondrugs.com. Granted, they only let you import three months supply at a time, but even that will enable me to get under way with my treatment and at least temper the nervousness and anxiety I've been experiencing since August with SOME hope that things could improve. My question is: has anyone used this site or know if they're reliable and/or legal? It SUCKS that I can't even begin treating my condition because of stubborn docs but I don't want to let my mounting desperation result in breaking the law or being swindled or anything. Any imput on this?

In the UK it is possible to get Proscar on prescription (divide it into 5ths), as Propecia is not prescribable for hair loss. However, it depends on your doctor, and I am lucky that mine agreed to let me try it and was impressed with the modest but noticible results I have gained. Of course, I don't tell her about all the other treatments I use, or I might get locked up for obsessive compulsive disorder (only joking). Many doctors don't take "natural" male hair loss seriously, so you need to make the point about the psychological effects. Still, at a young age you might have side effects, and your doctor should take that into account too. Hopefully there will be a proven topical treatment soon, which means we won't have to take so many pills and potions. I am using topical finasteride, and Eucapil Fluridil, though I can't prove if these are superflous or give additional benefits to Proscar, ketoconazole and minoxidil etc. However, having progressed from a shiny pate to a light covering of hairs is an interesting result, and if I get a lot more, I would venture a guess that my combination of all these treatments is better than just the "Big Three". Anyhow, good luck to you in your research and self-treatment, and with your doctor's attitude. It is a health lottery out there.

That is one hell of an expensive site for Dutasteride. I could give you the details of a much cheaper site in Gibraltar, but I don't want to advertise products on price basis.
