Some of you know that this plant is used to treat mild to moderate depression. It has been recently shown that it increases Cytochrome P450-3A4 activity. 5 minutes ago I realized that cytochromes are responsible for reducing finasteride in the body. Hence it could be possible that St. John's Wort has an negative impact on finasteride's effectiveness. It has been to decrease serum concentrations of other drugs by more than 50%.
