Any way to know if it will work now?

I started taking finasteride in may. But due to not having money I took quite low dose, around 0.25 per day. And during this time my hair still thinned...

So now I finally got a big box of 100 pills, 5 mg...

And now I take 1.25 mg every day since friday, still shedding like a mofo. Is there any way to know if this large dose will work in the long run? I really don't wanna lose any more hair. And I barely got my hands on finasteride, IDK where I would get dutasteride.

No way to know until you try it.

I mean, you could just be in the small minority who isn't a good responder to it, but finasteride has a pretty high effectiveness rating. Plus, you said you started it in May, so it's only been 4 months. Personally, I'd give it a full year minimum, and if you're still seeing no results, maybe reevaluate.

But my gut instinct is, if you have no noticeable sides, stick with it! If your hair is important to you, you'll find ways to save up for the cost of finasteride.

I have enough finasteride for 400 days now so cost is no problem. I had sides in the beginning but they went away. I am not sure if I will get sides on the 1.25mg dose but I hope not. My main concern is whether it will let me keep what I have. My hair is falling big time now but I assume it is just a seasonal shed or something...
