Any Type 1 Diabetics?

If there are any out there, I was wondering:

(1) What age did you acquire your type 1 diabetes?

(2) Are you suffering from male pattern balding?

For those of you who know any Type 1 diabetics, could you also answer BOTH questions please?

(for anyone wondering the theory is based on low insulin resulting in high SHBG and low Free T and hopefully reduced effects upon the body and hopefully the scalp).

(for my part, I know one male type 1 diabetic, he has good hair, no sign of male pattern baldness, however, he may not genetically predisposed).

My brother is type 1 diabetic. He is 27 and was diagnosed at 25. He is suffering from male pattern baldness. He was suffering from it before with slight recession. Since his diagnosis, the recession has continued and he is thinning pretty aggressively. I'd say he's a NW2 or 2.5 with diffuse thinning. He doesn't treat his male pattern baldness at all. He's married, doesn't give a sh*t about his male pattern baldness, and probably has bigger fish to fry with his diabetes.

I don't understand your comment. Do you think being diabetic and treating diabetes helps or harms male pattern baldness?

Well since he's only acquired it recently, and the fact he was suffering from male pattern baldness before it it doesn't really count.

My point (or theory) was that with Type 1 diabetes one is not suffering from insulin resistance thereby should not suffer male pattern baldness.

Your brother's case is informative however, I'd to hear from/about more Type 1 diabetics.
