So I'm not sure if im making progress, i feel that i might have slowed down my hairloss. I stopped using minoxidil for about two months, during this time I lost alot of density and my hairline receded. Ive been on RU for 2 months and 18 days and got back on minoxidil at x1 day in the morning (1 month back on). I don't believe my hair looks any different (although not worse since bringing minoxidil back in my regimen). I took a picture today and i feel it looks better than a month ago (my hair is at a 1.5 guard on top in both pictures). What do you guys think ? Do you guys think i can get some density back and thicken what i do have with this regimen ? i should also add that I am using finasteride 1mg. **before picture is the shirtless one ***after is with the gray shirt.

Honestly it looks a little worse.

Might be a shed.

What's your dose?

Its hard to tell, for me in person it looks exactly the same, i can not tell if im shedding anything out of the "norm" since my hair is so short anyways but it could be since im one month and a few days back onto minoxidil. Not sure if RU causes a shed i heard it reduces it but i use a 5% concentration and minoxidil foam 5%.

5% RU in ml? That would mean ~50 mg which seems to be the standard dose around here.

What matters is the total dose, not the percentage.

I would try another 2 months and see what happens.

Congratulations on catching your baldness early.

I don't think i caught it early man, im pretty much at that no guard it point imo. Yeah my dose is around 50mg per 1 ml. I will continue this regimen until my hairloss gets so bad that im forced to no guard at that point its game over

You've caught it early in my opinion as your hairline looks great, that's more important than the crown.

looks a little bit thinner in the crown and midscalp, BUT this may be a good sign. Remember that like 90% of people that improve on anti androgens usually lose a bit in the first few months. They start to show improvements around 4-8 months. Hang in there. Are you on finasteride?

Yeah ive been on finasteride for almost ten months (took a week at half a dose and then 9 days off completely within those 10 months). i feel i have a solid regimen so yes i will continue and will reassess at the 4 month mark on RU. I mean what really messed me up was that seb derm irritation i got and than quiting minoxidil for 2 months straight before that i had some good regrowth (around decemeber). My scalp is for the most part under control using tgel every other day

been on RU about same time as you. too early to say here, probably for you too. RU is anti androgen so I woulndn't expect any results this soon. maybe a slight improvement in shedding/itching at most.
