any of you ever had children while you were on propecia or rogaine..if so...how long ago was this...and how old is your child today and how is his/her health?

I dont think Rogaine gets absorbed systematically to the extent that it will travel through the semen.

I read like 8 months back that this guy on hairsite that was in the army or on a mission or something had a healthy baby boy while he was on Propecia. I personally would not use any internal drugs while having a kid. Luckily for me i aint having a kid for a LONG time and in 10 years i doubt we will have to be on internal drugs and Rogaine.

thanks for replyig stax, but the thing is even if the baby is born healthy, it doesnt mean that he will continue to be. Case in point, just very recently, baby's whose mothers' have been taking popular anti-depressant drugs like Paxil and more...have been discovered to have lung infectins (look it up on google news). Yet these dumbo drug companies and doctors said the drugs have been shown to be safe for all those years..then how da hell did it that ever happened? those bastards.

my girlfriend had my little boy while i was on both propecia and rogaine
and hes very healthy

i would not worrie about it unless you are taking 20x the normal amount
but if your trying to have a kid and it worries you then stop taking it for 6 month first

I tried to get my wife pregnant while using both finasteride and minoxidil. I wasn't having any luck so I had a fertility test done. My sperm count was very high but only 10% of the sperm were normal. You need at least 30% for full fertility.

So my doctor recommended I stop using finasteride until my wife was pregnant. I stopped using finasteride and had another fertility test 1 month later. The proportion of normal sperm had jumped to 65%. Now my wife is pregnant with my first child.

I still haven't gone back to using finasteride. I was always nervous about using it because it is an oral drug that has system wide effects. I always felt a slight pain in my testicles while I was on finasteride that went away completely after I stopped.

Anyhow my hairline seems to be maintaining itself OK for now on minoxidil alone. Maybe later I'll add a topical anti-androgen to my regimen.
