Any good hair loss shampoos with Ketaconazole?

Just asking as I saw one with it in recently, and it does get a little annoying having to wash with one shampoo and THEN use Nizoral and leave it in for a bit and then rinse my hair again (I use too little Nizoral to effectively clean all my hair as I have long hair and Nizoral is expensive).

So yeah I was just wondering if a) Any other reasonably priced hair loss shampoos contain Ketaconazole (or are similarly potent) or b) you can buy ketaconazole on it's own and then just add it to a shampoo of your choice?

Sounds weird I know but... I mean it's just a chemical right?

But anyway, would be great to hear your advice and experience with this!

Cheers!

Hoppi! :)

Dr. Lee sells a Ketoconazole 2%, salicylic acid 3% shampoo from minoxidil.com

I just ordered some and don't know how it is yet. The price is right however, 13.90...Just slightly more than I pay for my big nizoral bottle(dr.lee's is the same size, 4 ounces).

I've read that it leaves your hair a lot nicer than Nizoral.

I've also read that salicylic acid can help male pattern baldness a lot in some people who have a lot of sebum(I don't think that I do but I wanna see how much it helps).

Hope this helps!

Revita's amazing, give it a read - copper peptides, polyphenols, emu oil, keto 1%, bunch of other stuff, all around great.

Yep, there are ALOT of choices when it comes to Keto based shampoos. As stated above there are generic choices of Keto based shampoos that can save a few dollars and IMO are as good as Nizoral.

Yeah this is all good to hear - and yeah I did spot the Dr Lee's one before that looked pretty cool!

Basically I want one that's not too expensive and will do my hair good in general, so I can just use ONE shampoo as opposed to two! lol

If anyone knows anymore I would be pleased to hear them, this is really quite helpful :)

wow that stuff looks REALLY good!

Shame it's only 1% keto though ._.

Other than that excellent! I think I will be spoilt for choice when my Nizoral runs out :)

Well anything more than 1% Keto is a prescription and is not available OTC.

I do agree, Revita looks like a good shampoo and also there is Regenepure and a handful of others that offer alot more than just Keto 1% like Nizoral. Let us know how you like Revita if you chose to switch! :) :)

since revita is only 1% keto i use it 5 days a week, and i apply nizoral 2% mondays and fridays before my revita - so far my hair is handling it fine, i lost some ground in the temples since starting revita, hoping it's just room for growth

On the topic of Revita, I've been using this shampoo for the past two months and have to say I have mixed feelings. I wanted to believe it would be the "High performance hair growth shampoo" it claimed to be but havent seen any change so far. Its very expensive and the directions are a bit ridiculous if you ask me. Lather, leave on hair 1-2 minutes. Rinse. Lather, leave on hair 3-5 minutes. Whats up with applying it twice? Seems like such a waste of the product and waste of my time in the shower. Is it the company's out when someone calls foul on whether it worked for them then they can reply "Well did you sit in the shower 7 minutes with this on your head?"

erm, well I leave Nizoral 2% on my scalp for around 5 minutes, sometimes a little more just for luck!

Thing is Revita has only 1% Ket, so a bit longer can't hurt, plus it's got other ingredients that might benefit from a little longer on your scalp. If it were me I'd be giving it around 6-7 minutes :)
