Any Balding Sikhs Out There?

Sounds like a silly question perhaps, but I find it hard to believe that I can see a Sikh man take off his turban and see no hair coming down over his face...

Also just a personal belief. I think Sikh's won't mind going bald if they hate having very long hair that they can't cut. Heck I probably wouldn't mind. :punk:

This isn't meant to be racist. :shakehead:

I am a balding sikh and have recently started wearing a turban to cover the baldness. Thank god I have this option.

Well i'm not a sikh, but my friend is and it seems like his hair's been receding quite a bit. Thing is he doesn't wear a turban so people will notice it.

I personally thought that most sikh men didn't go bald because alot of the guys that don't wear turbans have such thick and nice hair.

Plenty of Sikh men go bald. We're of Punjabi ethnicity and have quite a lot of testosterone and body hair.
I think in the uk more of us go bald compared to the one's in India. It could be the diet.

I've noticed that South Asians (Indian/Pakistanis) tend to have high rates of male pattern baldness, whereas some other races such as East Asians (Chinese etc) have much lower rates.

It's all genetics in the end

I grew up in North London btw and at least 50% of the pupils at my secondary school were Indian/Pakistani

Yeah we also have a lot of body hair, so I'm guessing DHT is involved. Bangladeshis tend to be less prone to balding, I'm guessing because they have less testosterone.
Chinese and other East Asians have little body hair and probably less DHT.

One thing i've noticed though is that south asian men who come to the uk, or born here, seem more likely to bald than there counterparts still in south asia. If you look at videos of people there they generally show little signs of male pattern baldness, even among the hairy guys. Especially the young guys.

Yeah it could be linked to diet or stress. South Asian countries are generally relaxed countries, people are lazier over there.
