So i went to the dermatologist because my hair was thinning diffuse I believe. He brought up male pattern baldness but since I've been there he has changed the diagnosis to mild dermatitis and is giving me steroid injections in my scalp I have read people with male pattern baldness steroids are useless and are for AA or scalp inflammation. Can dermatitis cause hair loss btw i have lost 60 pound dropping to 128 pounds I also only eat about 1400 everyday including little meat until recently could this bring on thinning people in my family have there hair so I'm kinda stressed.

Are you thinning all over your head or in the male pattern baldness areas, like the temples and the crown?
If it is the second mentioned, I'm afraid that you most likely have male pattern baldness.
