Hi all, I'm 30 yrs old and I had a bout of alopecia areata (roughly 5-6 spots around the sides of my head) roughly 2 years ago. After having Kenalog injections every 4 weeks for 6 months... the spots all had 100% regrowth.
About two months ago, I discovered a new spot near the top of my head as well as a spot on my beard. I saw the derm and again, he injected me with steroids. However, I've now noticed diffuse thinning on the crown of my head that isn't like AA. The area is fairly large and seems to be accompanied by fast shedding, as it seems to be growing by the day. I asked my derm and he said it could be male pattern baldness, but said I didn't seem to have a receding hairline. He injected a few areas in it as well and said he was going to wait and see.

Does male pattern baldness progress very quickly? I was wondering if it could be telogen effluvium as well... I got married late March and it was a relatively stressful period. Any anecdotes and/or opinions welcome! Thank you
