Hey,

I am 21 and have began losing my hair over the last 3 month.

I am convinced that the cause of my hairloss stems from an antibiotic I was give in Thailand whilst travelling.

I had been suffering from a pretty severe bad stomach and picked up an antibiotic over the counter......big mistake.

My stomach didn't clear up for over a month and in this time the hair loss slowly began. I also only used the drug for about a week.

Family history shows no male pattern baldness until 40s & 50s and even then no complete baldness. Mine is currently just receding, but will catch up with grandfather at this rate!

Ever since I have taken the drug I am suffering from male pattern baldness, the reason I am convinced the drug/bad stomach triggered/caused the male pattern baldness is because I can quite accurately track my hairloss due to very regular pictures whilst travelling. Before the drug there is no sign at all of hairloss.....whilst post antibiotic shows gradual and right now pretty fast hairloss.

What can I do? I have read other forums discussing that it could be linked to something related to bacteria in the stomach. There were suggestions of soy products??

I spoke to my doctor and he said that the antibiotic i had was very strong and usually used for cancer patients :/ ........big advice, never take drugs that aren't prescribed by a doctor!
