I believe I read somewhere that lifting heavy weights with low reps increases levels of testosterone due to the stress this puts on the body. But all this paranoia about raising testosterone levels is ridiculous. I think this all got started because bodybuilders on steroids experience thinning hair, so all of a sudden you have misinformed people freaking out.

Exercise is one of the best things you can do for your body. There is no scientific evidence it affects hair loss. There is no scientific evidence that doing anything that increases testosterone levels for a short period of time has any affect on hair loss. Weight-lifting could have nothing but positive effects on hair for all we know. But, in the meantime I'll continue to do what is beneficial for my overall health and leave the rest to people who are more qualified than me to do actual research that can back up some of these claims.
