Another one of these: Early signs of balding or not?

On New Years Ever a friend made a comment to me about having a bald spot on the back of my head. It seemed like they were half joking at the time, but I started to wonder if I have begun balding and it's driving me a little crazy! Sometimes I think I am, other times I think I'm not. For reference, I'm turning 23 in a few weeks.

Also if it makes any difference, my dad started balding when he was 20 or 21, and was completely bald in his early 30's. My mom's side has really good hair genes though, as my grandfather has all of his hair.

So tell me what you think. I have not noticed a difference in my hairline, but I've included pictures anyways. More just questioning the back of my head.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll just keep an eye on it. Maybe switch to a healthier shampoo for good measure.

Probably a norwood 4. Family friend, in his mid 40's.

Same boat

Same boat as this man here, I'm 23 and unsure what's going on with my hair. It's only thinning at the crown and no where else. It looks fine in some photos then looks worse in the light and others. Just would like to know it's bothering me a lot

Looks like are you balding.

Look like you are starting to thin around crown but it has hardly started
