Hi My name is mike. Im 22 and have been losing my hair since I was 15. When I was 20 I finally started using Rogaine with propecia, and I when I was 21 i started using that hairmax laser comb. All this gave me great results. However, in Novemeber I had surgery under general and local anesthesia. Both before, during, and in the weeks following surgery i was on anitbiotics, steroids, sedatives and pain killers. I dont know if it was just anesthesia or all of it combined but my hair has been falling out like mad again. My question is will it stop? When will it stop? And is the loss of me newly grown hair permenate?

not really

I mean I might have lost a little, but they didnt mention on it, i didnt need a transfusion, the incision bled a little bit the night after. but thats it.

People sometimes get telogen effluviums after surgery. did u suffer a lot of shock?

have u had ur iron levels tested?

Im sure my Iron is fine, about a year ago a I did have a slight lack of it. So my doctor made some suggestions and tested me again, and my levels are normal. Ive been keeping up with his suggestions. I just wanted to know if it is shock loss from surgery/anesthesia. Will the hair that regrew with my propecia and Rogaine, come back?

I had a bunch of orthopedic surgeries and was hospitalized also for post op infection. No steroids but exp'd alot of stress during this period and noticed some thinning too. It came back though. Stress related Hairloss due to surgery and stress in general is temporary. This is what a few doctors told me. If it doesnt come back then it is most likely male pattern baldness in an advanced state.

So it will stop. Thats good, but Im just curious about the hair I regrew on rogaine and propecia. Will that hair come back if I stay on those drugs?
