American Crew is a company, not a product. I use their pomade.

Whats the product you're talking about?

Looking at the product, if the copper peptides are similar to those in Folligen and Tricomin, the product may have some merit. Its other ingredients are not going to help much, if at all.

Crew is NOT a snake oil

Tricomin is only one of 3 hair loss agents that has undergone at least phase 2 trials, and has shown to be effective with male pattern baldness.

Tricomin and Crew have the exact same active ingredient, copper peptides. ProCyte, the company who makes Tricomin has said the Cu peptide concentrations of Crew and Tricomin are comparable.

The Copper peptides in Crew work mainly to fight inflammation, lengthen the anagen phase and to stimulate hair growth. Copper peptides are the best anti-inflammatory agents available.

The 3 factors in male pattern baldness are androgens (dht), inflammation and shortened growth phase. The Copper Peptide in the Crew have been clinically shown to halt and reverse the latter 2 factors.

Ive used crew and tricomin, and found no difference between the two.

Actually, Tricomin decided they wanted to reach a broader audience, so they licensed their copper peptide technology to American Crew.

So not only is it the same ingredients as Tricomin, the stuff -- or at least the recipe -- comes directly from Procyte. The deal was consumated about 2 years ago.

nice. how does the price compare?

And a more advanced question (i'm not sure who could answer this), how does tricomin compare to folligen?

I have become more concerned with irritation (as irritation alone has cost me dearly this past month) and have started using the folligen that has been sitting in my medicine cabinet for months. I think I'm going to use it about 3 times a week, for cost effectiveness. It does seem to help.

Not positive about the price of the American Crew spray, but as I recall it's around $35 (that was about a year ago).

As for the Folligen/Tricomin comparison: this is a long-running debate. I've used both off and on for several years.

Pickard - the guy who invented Folligen - swears his stuff has more copper peptides than Tricomin. However, as almost anyone who's used both will tell you, Tricomin is much more soothing on the scalp, smells nicer, and doesn't turn your scalp and hair green. This means you can use it in the morning -- it has a nice conditioning effect on the hair. Folligen has a tendency to sting rather than soothe the scalp.

Of course, Folligen is less expensive than Tricomin.

I buy the American crew revitalizing spray at cost for $15 for a 6oz bottle, which is about 1/3 the cost of Tricomin (my mother is has her beauticians license, which allows her to buy products at cost)...The Crew, along with Cu peptides, includes green tea and saw palmetto.

My scalp used to stay inflamed, irritated and itchy 24/7 until I started using Crew. The Crew eliminated every one of these symptoms the very first application. Beware, that it makes your hair grow at about twice the normal rate, so you will need more frequent haircuts.

Spray it on your face too...Cu peptides are proving to be one of the best anti-wrinkle agent on the market.

Is there any benefit to using the Revitalizing Serum along with the Revitalizing Spray? Or is the Serum just a hair conditioning thing that doesn't do anything additional for hair loss?

I really want to add a growth stimulant to my regimen, but I'm hesitant to start on minoxidil because I'm going to college next year and I'd rather be seen spraying my hair than using a minoxidil dropper. :freaked2:

The American Crew serum is a very concentrated version of the copper peptide spray. While it may have some value, I wouldn't count on it to regrow or maintain hair by itself.

If you do decide to use minoxidil, try Dr. Lee's stuff. It's less greasy than Rogaine.

The serum is so concentrated that It made me dizzy and gave me a headache both times i tried to use it...it also burned my scalp a little. If you can tolerate it, and want a strong dose on the troubled areas, then it might be worth it. The revitalizing spray seems to be enough for me.

The cheapest Ive been able to find Tricomin for is $46 for 6 oz.s. The Crew is around $30. IS the Crew supposed to have the same amount of copper peptides as the Tricomin? If so Im definately sold on the Crew.

Thanks
